history

The song was written by Neil Young in July 1975. The song is played by Neil Young on almost every tour, sometimes as a solo version (acoustic guitar or pump organ).

Like a Hurricane appeared on the album American Stars' n Bars on the live albums Live Rust , Weld and Unplugged (here Young plays it on a harmonium ) as well as the compilations Decade and Greatest Hits . An edited version was released as a single on August 8, 1977, with Hold Back the Tears as the b-side.
