Live Rust is an album by Neil Young and Crazy Horse recorded in October 1978 and released the following year. The double LP is - apart from the track Introduction and the titles Thrasher and Welfare Mothers - the soundtrack to the film Rust Never Sleeps . The recordings are from five different concerts in the United States. The recording of Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black) was already used for the album Rust Never Sleeps .

reception

The editors of the German edition of Rolling Stone called Live Rust 2001 the best live album of all time. The Recording Industry Association of America awarded it platinum in February 1988 . The album reached number 15 on the Billboard 200 and the single Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black) reached number 79 on the Billboard Hot 100 .
