Americana is the 45th album of Neil Young . His first collaboration with Crazy Horse since recording Greendale and touring together in 2003/2004 was released on June 5, 2012. The album contains reinterpretations of classic American folk songs .

Country Music News said about the album that Neil Young was sending the old classics into a time machine, even if the electric guitar was technically somewhat limited. By rearranging the slightly outdated tracks from the Great American Songbook , they developed almost magical sounds.
