Tonight's the Night is the sixth studio album by Neil Young , released in 1975 . In 2003 Rolling Stone magazine ranked it 331 on their list of the 500 best albums of all time .

General

Like its predecessor On the Beach , Tonight's the Night was not a commercial success at the time of its release. The album, which was deliberately produced in a very simple and unpolished way, was highly valued over time.

The recordings for the album were recorded back in 1973, most of the tracks on a single day, August 26th. However, the publication was delayed by two years.

The track Come On Baby Let's Go Downtown was recorded live with Crazy Horse in March 1970 . A detailed recording of the concert was released on CD in 2006 under the title Live at the Fillmore East .

Track list
