Daly City is a city in San Mateo County in the US state of California with 106,562 inhabitants (as of 2015). The geographic coordinates are: 37 ° 41 '26 "N, 122 ° 27' 56" W. The urban area has a size of 16.6 km². The city borders directly south on San Francisco .
history
One neighborhood of Daly City, Westlake, is an early example of a planned suburb with compliant mid-range small homes . The place inspired the traveling songwriter Malvina Reynolds to write her song " Little Boxes ".
On August 16, 1942, the US naval airship L-8 landed as a ghost ship without its crew in Daly City / California. The two pilots remain missing.
