Head kantharos from the front.

Likinnios was an ancient Greek Roman times from the 1st century BC. Chr.

Signature.

Likinnios is only known from an inscription on the underside of a late Hellenistic head kantharos , which was relegated to a production site in Asia Minor for stylistic reasons . At that time, Asia Minor was one of the production centers for lead-glazed ceramics. It is not certain whether the inscription means the owner of the vessel, the owner of the workshop in which it was created, or the craftsman who created it. It is widely believed that Likinnios was directly or indirectly involved in the manufacture of the vase. The kantharos is now in the collection of the J. Paul Getty Museum .
