Lillian Watson (swimmer)
Lillian Debra "Pokey" Watson (born July 11, 1950 ) is a former American swimmer .
Her strongest routes were the 200 m freestyle and 200 m back. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo , she was with the USA relay over 4 × 100 m freestyle Olympic champion. Four years later at the Games in Mexico City , she became the first female swimmer to win the gold medal in the 200m backstroke.
In 1984 she was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
Watson was married to swimmer and sports medicine specialist Allen Richardson († 2003) and has three children.
