Limitrophe Island (from English limitrophe 'neighboring country' ) is an 800 m long and oval island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located immediately east of Christine Island and 1.5 km south of Anvers Island .
The island was named in 1972 by scientists from the Palmer station , in whose area of operations it was located.
