Lina Frieb

Lina Frieb , actually Karoline Frieb , married Karoline Mühldorfer , ( November 26, 1845 in Vienna - August 27, 1876 in Leipzig ) was a German opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Lina Frieb, the daughter of the actress and singer Minona Frieb-Blumauer and the engineer Emanuel Frieb, devoted herself to the stage career and received her first dramatic lessons from her mother. She took singing lessons with choir director Johann Elsler in Berlin.

She made her debut on November 24, 1864 at the Royal Court Theater in Hanover as "Benjamin" in Josef and his brothers by Étienne-Nicolas Méhul . In 1866 she came to the Royal Opera in Berlin as a soubrette , where she stayed until 1868, then sang for a year at the Stadttheater in Leipzig and was on stage for the last time on May 31, 1869, after a short but successful artistic career as "Ännchen" .

“Zerlina” in Fra Diavolo and “Marie” in Zar and Zimmermann were also excellent performances by the popular singer.

In 1872 she married the conductor Wilhelm Mühldorfer .
