Linda Medalen (born June 17, 1965 in Sandnes ) is a former Norwegian soccer player .

Life

Madelen was one of Norway's most famous footballers and ended her international career with 152 internationals and scored a total of 64 goals. She was part of the Norwegian team that won the 1995 FIFA Women's World Cup .

In February 1999 she played on the occasion of the group draw for the 1999 World Cup with a FIFA World Cup against the United States women's national soccer team . The game is not counted as an official international match.

She played for Asker Fotball in Norway for most of her career and retired from active football in 2006 at the age of 41. She also spent seven seasons in Japan with Nikko. She began her career as a striker , and later at the height of the career in the defender and toward the end of her career as a central defender .

Medalen's main job was as a police officer . In 2007 she became a local politician for the Conservative Party of Norway in the municipal council of Asker selected. Medalen is openly lesbian . Her height is 1.67 m.
