LinkArena

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Link Arena is a German social bookmarking - online service .

Members of the Linkarena can save bookmarks (also called bookmarks ) and archive them in folders or with tags . By default, a member's bookmarks are publicly visible to everyone, but they can also be marked as private so that only the owner can see them.

A search engine helps members and visitors to search the bookmarks of a specific member or all members. The search engine offers a personalization of searches; For example, it is possible for logged-in members to delete search results or store them in a search basket so that they can be found again quickly later.

Linkarena has existed since mid-2004 and is operated by the advertising agency dimento.com in Münster .

History and Development

The idea of the online management of bookmarks arose from a complete loss of the locally stored bookmarks of the managing director Dieter Stratmann . The project was originally published in late 2002 under the name Favoriten-Web , but was renamed Linkarena in May 2004. Linkarena is therefore a pioneer of German social bookmarking applications.

According to the operator, Linkarena is the first German-speaking service to have optimized social bookmarking specifically for mobile devices. Since February 2007 it has been possible for users of the Linkarena to save and / or view their bookmarks on PDAs and web-enabled cell phones.

Linkarena is now one of the 800 most relevant websites in Germany. According to dimento.com, Linkarena is visited by 1 million internet users every month.
