The Left List Nuremberg ( LLN ) is a group of voters from Nuremberg . It was founded in 2006 and has been represented on the Nuremberg City Council since 2008 .

Members

The list consists of an association of left-wing organizations and members from Nuremberg. Includes, in addition to the German Communist Party , the Socialist German Workers Youth , the Kurdish Association Medya Volkshaus that Yenigün Cultural Center eV - Nuremberg and the motorcycle club Kuhle Wampe - Geyer's Black pile on. The Left Party also played a leading role in the list until it left the group in May 2019 . It ran for the 2020 local elections as an independent party with former list and city council member Titus Schüller as candidate for mayor. The Federation of Democratic Workers' Associations e. V. (DIDF) , who left the electoral group in March 2019, was also represented on the new list. Furthermore, non-party individuals and members of the Greens , the SPD , the party courage or the party Die Linke are part of the alliance.

Program

According to its own statement, the focus of the program is to make Nuremberg a liveable city with the help of a social local policy. The Alliance advocates a free public transport one as well as a social and communal housing program (public transport). Further program items are the rejection of fee increases, social cuts, low wages and temporary work, privatization and discrimination, racism and anti-Semitism. Furthermore, the city councils made part of their allowance available to a social fund that benefits people in need as well as social and political initiatives.

When they first ran in the local elections in 2008 , the group of voters was elected to the Nuremberg City Council with three seats and 4.8% of the votes cast. The top candidate for the mayor's office, Harald Weinberg , achieved 1.8%. In 2009 he left the city council group and has since been a member of the German Bundestag for the Left Party . In 2010 the non-party city councilor Hans-Joachim Patzelt left the Left List due to internal discrepancies and remained a member of the city council until the 2014 local elections .

In the 2014 local elections , the group of voters with Marion Padua as the top candidate reached 4.1%, but thanks to the new counting process, they were able to win three city council seats despite losses. The mayoral candidate Marion Padua achieved third place of all candidates with 1.9%. In spring 2019, the two city councilors Özlem Demir and Titus Schüller moved to the city council group of the DIE LINKE party . Since then, the Left List has only been represented on the city council by Marion Padua.

For the 2020 local elections , Marion Padua was re-elected as mayor and top candidate of the group. In the OB election she received 0.8% of all votes cast. According to the preliminary results of the election, the list was able to defend its city council seat with 1.33% of the votes cast.

Together with Free Voters, ÖDP, FDP and the group of voters Die Guten, the Linke Liste Nürnberg has formed a committee with a total of seven city councilors and is therefore entitled to participate in the committees.
