Linmag ( own spelling LINMAG ) is a sister company of Linsinger Maschinenbau GmbH with headquarters in Steyrermühl, municipality of Laakirchen , Upper Austria . The company provides international services in the field of rail processing, reprofiling and troubleshooting for rails. Overall, Linmag operates most of the rail processing machines from its sister company Linsinger, the world market leader in the field of rail milling.

In 2012, the "Rail Services" division was the company Linsinger Maschinenbau spun off and subsequently traded as Linmag GmbH.

In 2013, Linmag Australia Pty Ltd, based in Cremorne, Victoria , was the first branch in Australia . Another company was founded in 2016 with Linmag International Ltd in Dublin , Ireland .

In the period from 2013 to 2016, several vehicles were purchased from the sister company Linsinger.

The director of Linmag Australia Pty Ltd is Reinhard Schwarzenberger , former Austrian ski jumper and Olympic medalist.

At the end of 2012, the most powerful rail milling machine to date, the MG 31, was put into service at Deutsche Bahn .

In September 2013 a "Linmag Rail Road Truck SF02W-FS" rail milling cutter reached Melbourne after an eight-week transport . The machine was used to rehabilitate tracks that were previously impossible to use due to their poor condition.

Linsinger Maschinenbau Ges.mbH and Linmag GmbH are organizationally subordinate to Mate GmbH, based in Kirchham .
