Linnéa Engström (born April 2, 1981 in Uppsala ) is a Swedish politician in the Greens and a member of the European Parliament . As a member of Miljöpartiet de Gröna , she is part of the European Green Party .

biography

Linnéa Engström holds a Masters in Political Science from the Swedish National Defense College, Försvarshögskolan . In May 2016 she published her first book entitled Klimatfeminism ( Air - feminism ). Queen-fish was the second book by Linnéa Engström, published in May 2017. It deals with the challenges of preserving our seas and fisheries that are close to nature, and combines them with feminist and fair politics.

In the 2014 to 2019 electoral term of the European Parliament, Linnéa Engström was ranked fifth on the Miljöparts list. In the past, the Miljö party had four seats and Engström remained the first replacement for the Miljö party. After Isabella Lövin was appointed State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Linnéa Engström moved to head her group on October 8, 2014. Since November 2014 she has also been Vice-Chair of the Fisheries Committee. In 2016 it applied for an examination of the compatibility of the proposed agreement between Canada and the European Union on a Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement ( CETA ) with the Treaties (2016/2981 (RSP)).

Linnéa Engström is the initiator of the first report in the European Parliament on women, gender equality and climate justice . The report, with a resolution released in January 2018, is the first report since the signing of the Paris Agreement in 2015 that clearly urges the parties to take the challenge of global warming seriously. The resolution faces the challenge of the problem of climate refugees. The resolution introduces a definition of climate justice and shows that women and children are the most vulnerable to the effects of climate change .

Linnéa works as a program director at the Marine Stewardship Council .
