Linner linden tree
The Linner Linde (in the vernacular Aargauerstrasse d loin Lenn vo ) is a striking leaved lime ( Tilia platyphyllos ), the near Linn on the community spell of Bözberg in Swiss Aargau stands.
With a height of 25 meters and a trunk circumference of eleven meters, it is considered the mightiest tree in the Aargau. The legend says that the Linde commemorating the plague was donated by one of the last remaining villagers. The plague raged in the village of Linn in the 16th and 17th centuries. Century particularly violent. The actual age of the linden tree is, however, much higher; it is assumed to be around 800 years.
Another legend threatens that the world will end if one day the linden tree no longer casts its shadow once a year on Habsburg Castle , the ancestral seat of the dynasty of the same name us »(with« Ruedeli »is meant Rudolf von Habsburg ).
