Linux Gazette

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Linux Gazette was a monthly computer - e-zine that deals with Linux . The articles are written in English and then unofficially translated into nine other languages, including Russian , French and Chinese . No issue has appeared since June 2011.

history

The free project was started in 1995 by John Fisk . The magazine was supported and published by the SSC. The SSC sponsored the Linux Journal before it was taken over by Belltown Media Inc.

The articles were usually written by volunteers who were eventually proofread by employees of the Linux Gazette.

The Answer Gang

The Linux Gazette stood out from other magazines with similar topics mainly because of the Answer Gang . Not only were detailed tutorials published, but a sometimes posed dialog was also added to the article, which led to the topic and should fit the slogan Making Linux just a little more fun . This usually resulted in amusing yet informative contributions.
