Lionel Cox (marksman)

Lionel Cox (born July 11, 1981 in Seraing ) is a Belgian sports shooter .

Career

Cox has been active as a marksman since 1996. He competes in the disciplines with the small-bore rifle. He competed in his first international competition in 2005.

At the 2007 European Championships in Granada , he was 23rd with the small bore rifle 300 meters. Four years later at the European Championships in 2011 17th with the small bore rifle 50 meters prone and 30th with the small bore rifle 300 meters prone.

With an 11th place at the World Cup in Milan 2011 and a 9th place at the World Cup in London 2012, he qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. There, by setting the Belgian record of 599 points, he reached the final with the small bore rifle lying 50 meters, in which he ultimately won the silver medal with 701.2 points.
