Lionel Cristol (born August 17, 1963 in Montpellier ) is a former French football player .
Career
Cristol was trained in the youth of HSC Montpellier until he was accepted into the reserve team in 1981. In 1983 he moved up to the first team around players like Laurent Blanc and Pascal Baills , but returned to the second selection after only three contested second division games. Assuming that he had no chance of a place in the professional team at Montpellier, the player moved in 1985 to AS Béziers , which is also second class . Although he earned a regular place there, he moved again in 1986 and signed with Olympique Alès . Cristol was also a regular in Alès and always achieved a good position in the table with the club, but without advancing.
In 1990 he and his teammate Michel Flos decided to move to the Cercle Dijon . Although they also bet on Cristol in Dijon, but the club rose at the end of the season as bottom of the second division, so he turned his back on this after a year. For the 1991/92 season he found a new employer in the second division Sporting Perpignan . Even if he was a regular in the team, he could not qualify for the following season with Perpignan in 1993 , in which the previously two-pronged second division went up in just one season. As a result, Cristol ended his career at almost 30 years of age. He then took over the management of a school for trade, communication and marketing.
