Liquid Metal and Vitreloy are brand names for amorphous metal - alloys (so-called. Metallic glasses ), which by the company Liquid Metal Technologies have been developed. Due to their non-crystalline structure, the zirconium alloys used are more resistant and elastic than alloys made of titanium or aluminum , which are used in the same areas. The material is widely used in the military and industrial sectors; however, it is best known for its use in sports equipment such as skis, tennis, softball, and baseball bats.

The Turkish researcher Atakan Peker is considered to be the inventor of liquid metal .

An example of the composition of an alloy (Vitreloy 106a): zirconium 58.5%; Copper 15.6%; Nickel 12.8%; Aluminum 10.3%; Niobium 2.8%.
