Career

Lisa-Maria Reiss attended the Schladming Ski School , which she graduated in 2010. Her first successes came in the winter of 2007/2008 when she won the giant slalom of the Whistler Cup in her age group and became Austrian student champion in giant slalom and combined. She contested her first FIS race in December 2008 after successfully taking part in the national championships and junior championships in Australia in August of the same year . In 2009 Reiss was accepted into the junior team of the Austrian Ski Association . She celebrated her first victory in an FIS race in February 2010, and another six victories came in winter 2010/2011. At the Austrian Youth Championships she won the Giant Slalom and Combined in the Youth I age group in 2010 and the Super-G and the Super Combined in the Youth II age group in 2011. Thanks to her good results in the FIS races, Reiss was also used in the European Cup for the first time in the 2010/2011 season , where she has only scored once as 16th in the giant slalom in St. Sebastian . She also took part in the 2011 Junior World Championships in Crans-Montana , where she was 12th in Super-G and 15th in Slalom. She achieved her greatest success so far on March 30, 2011 at the Austrian Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm when she won the Austrian championship title in giant slalom.

After the 2010/2011 season, Reiss rose from the junior to the B-squad. In the following winter of 2011/2012, however, she had to take a break from the beginning of February because of an illness with Pfeiffer's glandular fever . At the beginning of the 2012/2013 season, Reiss had to take a break for several weeks because of a herniated disc . Only after the turn of the year could she participate in races again.
