This list includes the mayor of the city of Leer in Ostfriesland since 1812. Back then put the French occupiers first time a mayor ( Maire ) a. In 1823 Leer was granted town charter, and since then it has officially been given the title of mayor.
The city directors between 1946 and 1997 are also listed separately. In that year the single track was introduced in Leer and the post of city director as head of administration was abolished. Between 1946 and 1997, the mayor performed his office on a voluntary basis.
