Ernst Stendel

Ernst Stendel (born November 28, 1879 in Aurich ; † August 8, 1951 in Leer ) was a German lawyer and politician ( DVP , CDU ).

Life

After attending grammar school, Stendel studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . He then entered the Prussian judicial service, was appointed to the District Court Council in 1921 and has been the District Court Director at the District Court of Leer since 1925 . In addition, he had to doctor of law doctorate .

During the time of the Weimar Republic , Stendel joined the DVP. From 1919 to 1921 he was a member of the Prussian state constitutional assembly and was then elected to the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged until 1933. From 1925 to 1928 he was chairman of the DVP parliamentary group alongside Rudolf von Campe and from 1928 to 1932 alongside Wilhelm Schwarzhaupt .

Stendel joined the CDU after the Second World War . From 1948 to 1950 he was mayor of Leer and then district administrator of the Leer district until his death .
