Catholic parish church of St. Nicholas | Wipperfürth church square |
Catholic parish church St. Nikolaus, 3-aisled pillar basilica from the 2nd half of the 12th century, in a bound system, with three parallel choirs, choir flank towers and a three apse closure as well as a west tower built today, quarry stone. Vaulting of the central nave and expansion of the transept-like projecting secondary choirs around 1220/30. During the thorough restoration of the church by Franz Schmitz in 1886–95, the upper floors of the west tower, which had been covered with a simple pyramid roof since the fire in 1795, and the choir flank towers, which had been dismantled in 1795, were re-listed; the aisles renewed and lengthened by 2 yokes on the sides of the west tower; the vault of the central nave renewed. In the 20th century, simplified solutions were introduced instead of the neo-Romanesque tower crowning and the neo-Romanesque essays on the choir flank towers; In 1961 the new Romanesque sacristy building erected in the choir axis was demolished and replaced by a new building on the north side of the church. The originally 3-storey and undivided west tower was extended to 4-storey with structure from pilaster strips and round arch friezes during the reconstruction in the 19th century; the two basement floors left by the Romanesque tower are clad, the west portal renewed, the two upper floors re-designed. The tall slate helmet with the 4 corner turrets dates from 1936/37. The nave still has the old outer structure on the upper dome on the south side (front side), which alternates between an arched window and a twin panel with a central column set under the final arched frieze; the column shafts made of black basalt lava, the cube capitals made of green sandstone. The semicircular apse of the rectangular main choir is smooth, the apses of the square side choirs, which were expanded around 1220/30 with structure made of pilaster strips and arched friezes, the choir gable and the 3-part windows in the side choirs, 19th century subscribed essays from 1948/49; Round essays have been handed down for the Romanesque building. The motif of the choir flank turrets first appears on the foundation building of the Siegburg abbey church and can also be found as a kind of badge on the Siegburg probation churches in Overath and Oberpleis. The two Romanesque basement floors of the west tower groin vault; the ground floor is arched towards the central nave, the chapel room on the upper floor, which is accessible via 2 straight, barrel-vaulted wall stairs, originally also had openings to the nave. The 3-bay nave in the side aisles is closed with groin vaults; the originally also groin vaulted central nave has received three 6-part rib vaults between wide belts above the flat wall templates from the 12th century around 1220/30; the desert ribs accompanying the belt and the shield arches on tropical pieces of wall, the transverse ribs on consoles. In the east corners of the main choir, the substructures of the choir-flank turrets, supported by a high column with a cube capital, rise, whose chimney-like shafts merge directly into the groin vault of the choir. The secondary choirs, which were expanded around 1220/30 and which are now connected to the main choir by pointed arcades, have four-part ribbed vaults in the previous yokes and three-cap vaults in the apses. The decorative color of the interior from 1951. (see Dehio Rheinland p. 637) 3-aisled pillar basilica with 4-storey west tower and small choir flank towers made of quarry stone; 3 apses are added to the transept, which protrudes only a little; 4-storey west tower with 8-sided slated hood; Triangular gables and flanking corner turrets, arched windows with central columns; Arched friezes on all parts of the building, arched windows on the nave and aisles; round-arched west portal with stepped walls and flanking columns. Monastery church | Wipperfürth Klosterplatz |
Church, so-called "monastery church"; an elongated hall building made of Grauwackebruchstein with a 3-sided end. L. 32 m, W. 9.50 m. The facade has a romanized column window above it. While the monastery buildings adjoin to the south, the north wall facing the city and located on the sloping hill side by means of high underpinnings has 5 arched windows. Since the buttresses here could no longer withstand the thrust of the vaults, they had to be renewed together with the foundations of the entire north wall in 1953-54. Apparently from an earlier security, the north-west corner bears the year 1775. In 1953-55 the external plaster was removed except for the west side, the side choir windows were closed in brick (the middle one had already been walled up in earlier times) and the roofs were re-slated. The ridge turret was restored in classicist form in 1842 after the town booth of 1795. Inside, the barrel with 5 embroidered caps rests on pillars with Krnies fighters, which are replaced by consoles in the choir and a yoke on the south side. The choir vault also had to be renewed in 1953-55 due to its disrepair. The furnishings on the high altar, pulpit, confessionals, pews and organ loft are uniformly Baroque from the late 17th century. On the south side of the last nave yoke a coretto from the end of the 18th century (from: Monuments of the Rhineland, Rhein.-Berg. Kreis , Volume 3, pp. 118, 122) | 1670 | 10/17/1983 | 149 |

Former rectory and wall remains of the old mission church from 1723/24 | Klüppelberg Westfalenstrasse 40 |
Former parsonage: 1913/14 first single house built especially for the Kreuzberg pastor. Alignment of the representative main facade to the choir with sacristy of the church. The stately former rectory is a compact two-story building with a slate-covered hip roof. In accordance with the rural situation, the second floor is optically added to the roof zone, in that the walls are clad in slate and have a hip. Stylistically, the building can be assigned to the home style due to the color triad white-dark gray-green and the materials used (plaster, slate, lacquered wood) and the small-scale windows with shutters. The three-axis street facade is highlighted by a particularly representative entrance. It is made up of a double-barreled, symmetrical external staircase and the arched front door, which is combined into a symmetrical composition by a basket-arch panel with two smaller arched windows and closed off by a rain roof. The entrance on the ground floor is answered in the roof zone by a wide, two-lined dormer. A second downgraded entrance is on the north side of the building. Typical villa floor plan without significant changes to the original floor plan. Ground floor as a representative floor with the office on the left, which is directly accessible from the apartment via the vestibule (doors retained) and the living room on the right, which can be connected to the dining room by means of a wide double door if required. Well above-average state of preservation of the building's equipment with plaster, slate and stone surfaces, the best preserved double-box windows with their small-scale exterior as well as the ironwork for the windows and door grilles and for the railings of the external stairs as well as wooden equipment inside (door jambs, doors and Staircase with rural neo-baroque railing, floors of the living rooms) and the ceramic tiles in the vestibule, vestibule and the sanitary rooms. A lead glazing set in the entrance door with a depiction of a saint refers explicitly to the ecclesiastical function of the house.
Remnants of the wall: Remnants of the outer walls of the old mission church from 1723/24 in the rear part of the rectory garden (southern boundary of the former hall building with a kinked part of the wall that belonged to the polygonal choir of the church) The report on the monument value according to Section 22 (3) sentence 1 DSchG NW by Dr. Köhren-Jansen, LVR Office for Monument Preservation in the Rhineland, dated September 25, 2017 is part of the registration notice. Residential building with shop | Wipperfürth Hochstrasse 11 |
It was erected immediately after the town fire of 1795. Two-story, half-timbered corner house facing the Hochstrasse gable. Slate-clad, two-room-deep half-timbered building over a massive base made of broken stone and brick. In the front part of the house there is a basement walled up from quarry stones with two barrel-vaulted compartments located transversely to the ridge axis of the house, between which there is a narrow, corridor-like room with a dead end. The vaults are almost drawn down to the cellar floor, the stairs and a light niche at the foot of the cellar stairs are made of rubble stones.
The cubature and storeys of the building, the barrel-vaulted cellar, the half-timbered structure and the roof structure go back to the time it was built. Internal staircase with delicate balusters railings, floor tiles, coffered doors, lattice windows in the living rooms, shop windows and slate cladding from 1880/90. Roof covering with reform tiles (Rhineland pans) from approx. 2nd half of the 20th century. Villa Sandner | Wipperfürth Gaulstrasse 55 |
Single house built in 1910 and rebuilt in 1924 with the main entrance on the street side. Detached, two-story house with hipped roof and central projectile. On each of the three sides of the house that can be seen from the street, in front of the simple cubic structure, there are central exits with balconies above. The central emphasis of these three facades is taken up in the roof zone by dwarf houses and on the entrance side by the gable field of the central projection. The exterior walls of the house are divided by cornices. The two and three-sash windows from the construction period with skylights made in small pieces have been preserved almost throughout.
On the ground floor there is a representative two-part vestibule with a neo-baroque curved semi-oval staircase.
