List of honorary citizens of Wiesloch

The honorary citizenship is the highest award of the Baden-Württemberg town of Wiesloch . It is to be awarded to people who have made a special contribution to promoting the economic and cultural life of the city or who have long-standing, meritorious work within the community organs.

The council of Wiesloch has so far awarded this honor to 15 people. In addition, she leads five other people who were made honorary citizens of the municipalities of Baiertal and Schatthausen , which were incorporated in 1972 . The right to honorary citizenship is not associated with any special rights or special duties.

    Holfelder was the owner of the Baden-Württemberg corrugated paper mills Klingele & Holfelder, which he developed from small beginnings into the German market leader. As a member of the citizens' committee in Wiesloch and as a district councilor, he worked with extraordinary energy on the prosperous development of the city. His efforts contributed a lot to the establishment of the sanatorium and nursing home. At the end of the war in 1918, his tactful but energetic intervention prevented the outbreak of unrest. During the housing shortage after the end of the Second World War, he had his company build an apartment block for employees. In grateful recognition of these great services to the city, he was granted honorary citizenship.
  12. Adolf Pfisterer (born September 24, 1883 in Paterson, New Jersey, † February 17, 1978 in Wiesloch)

    Awarded on September 11, 1955 in Schatthausen
    Pfisterer had compiled the local history on behalf of the community of Schatthausen, from which his grandparents came and to whom he came at the age of three. In recognition of his successful work, he was made an honorary citizen of the community of Schatthausen.

    For more than 32 years, from November 1, 1928 until the beginning of his retirement on January 15, 1961, Dürr worked as the town pastor in Wiesloch. His activity was filled with beneficial work in the spirit, Christian charity and civic balance. He earned the recognition of all sections of the population. In grateful appreciation of his great services as a person and a clergyman, he was granted honorary citizenship.

    Hilswicht was Mayor of Wiesloch from March 3, 1954 to March 31, 1968. During his tenure he influenced the upward development of the city determinedly and dynamically. He saw its importance in the cultural and economic field, its constant expansion and its supra-local charisma as a life's work. In appreciation of his services to his hometown, he was granted honorary citizenship.
