List of Nagaland Governors
The following table lists the governors of Nagaland with their respective terms of office. The state of Nagaland was created on December 1, 1963 from part of the state of Assam , after there had been attempts at autonomy in the area since India's independence. Until 1981, the governor of Assam was also responsible for Nagaland. After that there was a joint governor for the states of Nagaland, Manipur and Tripura until 1989 .
