List of chapels in Grossarltal
The list of chapels in Großarltal contains the most important chapels in the communities of Großarl and Hüttschlag in Großarltal in the district of St. Johann in the state of Salzburg , regardless of whether they are listed or not. The Großarltal has over 40 chapels, most of which were privately built and therefore belong to individual farms in a hamlet. Your classification was made according to the district (hamlet). Mostly they are lady chapels. Many of the chapels were only built after 1945, mostly triggered by blows of fate in the families or out of gratitude, such as B. at the Pertill Chapel. They are still under the care of local families today. They are a sign of popular piety and serve as a consecrated space for the localization of faith. The two parish churches in Grossarl and Hüttschlag and the 11 chapels near the bottom of the valley were combined in 2009 to form a “chapel hiking trail”. These 2 churches and chapels are listed first in the following table and are numbered according to the brochure.
