List of chapels in Paznaun

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of chapels in Paznaun contains the most important chapels and churches in the communities of Galtür , Ischgl , Kappl , See and Tobadill in Paznaun in the Landeck district in Tyrol, regardless of whether they are listed or not. The Paznaun has over 60 chapels, which were built due to the great distances between the individual hamlets and the parish churches. Some chapels are venerated as pilgrimage chapels, e.g. For example, the Chapel of the Seven Sorrows of Mary in Unterpardatsch, the Gallus Chapel in Oberpardatsch and the chapel in Vordergiggl, although this has not been confirmed by the Catholic Church.

The originally bricked, two-bay chapel dates from the 18th century. It had a slightly drawn-in, semicircular apse, an open ridge turret on the shingled pitched roof, an arched door on the entrance facade, two on each side of the nave, and one arched closed window in the apse. The prayer room had a stab cap barrel. The property was demolished before 1990.
