history

In 1359 the church was named and consecrated in 1383. In the second half of the 15th century, it was rebuilt. The elevation to the parish church was assumed for the 15th to 16th centuries. From 1622 to 1624 the church was rebuilt after a fire. From 1777 to 1779 the church was redesigned in baroque style. From 1967 to 1968 the church was renovated, extended and a vestibule was added by the architect Clemens Holzmeister .

architecture

The simple exterior with corner pilasters and plastered window frames is roofed with shingles . The north tower from the 2nd half of the 14th century with coupled round-arched sound windows was later given a second bell storey with cornices and pointed arch windows around 1622 and a curved gable with a pointed helmet in the 2nd half of the 19th century. The sacristy is built on the north side of the choir . The former mortuary chapel and baroque vestibule were demolished and rebuilt between 1967 and 1968. The mortuary chapel with a western apse and a half-bulb roof was structurally connected to the vestibule.

The interior is heavily dependent on conversion of 1777 by gilded Rococo - stucco determined. The initially three-bay nave was expanded into a four-bay nave. The flat wall structure with pilasters was broken by strongly raised arched windows. The two-storey west gallery was integrated into the vestibule in 1968. The round arched, slightly stretched triumphal arch gives the year 1777 in the stucco cartouche. The choir is five-sided and vaulted with a barrel with stitch caps.

The painter Johann Wörle (1777) painted the ceiling paintings in the middle medallions and side cartouches . They show the birth of Christ and the four evangelists in the choir and the birth of Mary in the nave, the Assumption of Mary, the Annunciation, the offering in the temple, Esther and Ahasver, Maria Immaculata, Judith and Holofernes and historical representations of the building of the church in 1383 and the fire in 1622 On the west side, the painter Wolfram Köberl created the frescoes Visitation, Archangels Michael and Raphael in 1967 .

There are wrought iron crosses in the cemetery from the end of the 18th century.

Furnishing

The church has a uniform baroque altar decoration with rich rococo carvings from around 1770 to 1780. The figures were created by the sculptor Johann Lander. The high altar from 1771 was painted by the painter Andreas Miller in 1778. The column structure on a high base with a tabernacle and canopy of grace and crowning with volutes bears the carved figure of the grace of Mary from the early 17th century and the side figures of Maria Cleophas, Andreas, Joachim, Anna, Sebastian, Maria Magdalena and, in the excerpt, God the Father. The left side altar shows the altar sheet Dorothea and carries the statues Katharina and Barbara and shows Aloysius in the upper picture and carries a Pietà from the first half of the 17th century in the cafeteria. The right side altar shows the altar leaf Nativity and bears the statues Gregor and Lucius and shows Antonius in the upper picture.

The pulpit around 1770 to 1780 with rich rococo carving and the four evangelists on the basket was created by the workshop of Josef Georg Witwer . The confessionals and pew cheeks are baroque in design. The station pictures were painted by Johann Paul Scheiber (1737). There are two lecture crosses from the 18th century. The baroque crucifixion group with Maria and Johannes was created by Josef Georg Witwer.

The organ was built by Franz Weber in 1867. A bell was cast by Johannes Fredenberger in 1441. Hainrich Reinhart cast a bell in 1624.
