Parish Church of Langesthei
The Roman Catholic parish church Langesthei is located in the village of Langesthei in the municipality of Kappl in the Landeck district in Tyrol . It is consecrated to St. Jerome and belongs to the Deanery of Zams in the Diocese of Innsbruck . The building is a listed building ( list entry ).
Location description
The church is in the village of Langesthei east of the village of Kappl-Dorf. The building is surrounded by a cemetery.
history
The church was officially built in 1694. In 1891 the church was elevated to a parish church. A renovation took place between 1970 and 1973.
architecture
- Exterior description
The church is a simple baroque building. The church tower to the north has ogival sound windows and a pointed helmet. The western vestibule, which is used as a cemetery chapel, was built between 1970 and 1973.
- Inside description
The nave is two-bay, the choir is single-bay with a polygonal end. Above the nave and choir there is a stitch cap barrel vault. The windows are arched. The vault decoration with baroque ornaments and picture medallions are by Leopold Puellacher from the year 1823. The decoration depicts the scene “Maria asks the harvest blessing for Langesthei”. In addition, the four church fathers and saints are depicted, as well as the fall of the bridge of St. John Nepomuk .
Furnishing
The baroque altar dates from 1973 and is complemented by a baroque plague cross from the 17th century, which comes from South Tyrol . On the altar there are figures of Saint Mary and John from the beginning of the 18th century. They are attributed to Ingenuin Lechleitner . On the triumphal arch there are figures of St. Mary and Child from the second half of the 17th century with more recent additions and St. John Nepomuk from the middle of the 18th century. The half-length figure of St. Francis Xavier comes from the first half of the 18th century.
organ
The organ was built in 1871 by Franz Weber as a parapet organ and modified in 1973.
Bells
The bells were cast by Franz Anton Pignet in 1718 and by Mathias Zechenter in 1724.
