Ingenuin Lechleitner

Ingenuin Lechleitner (born February 3, 1676 in Grins , † July 1, 1731 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian baroque sculptor .

Life

Lechleitner learned sculpture from Jakob Auer in Grins and from the imperial court chamber sculptor Giovanni Stanetti in Vienna , where he was also influenced by Giovanni Giuliani . By marrying the Innsbruck bourgeois daughter Anna Barbara Obermayr († 1748) in 1708, he obtained Innsbruck citizenship and was allowed to open a workshop in the city. He was appointed court sculptor by the governor Karl Philipp von der Pfalz-Neuburg . He was considered the most progressive sculptor of his time in Innsbruck. His main works include the sculptural furnishings of the Johanneskirche and the old country house (together with Nikolaus Moll ) in Innsbruck.
