Giovanni Stanetti
Giovanni Stanetti (actually Johann Stanety ; * 1663 in Oberglogau , Upper Silesia, † July 19, 1726 in Vienna ) was an Austrian sculptor .
Life
Johann Stanety came from Upper Silesia, but was then presumably based in Venice , where he possibly also received his training. From there he was brought to Vienna by Prince Eugene of Savoy . On February 14, 1695, he married the widow of the sculptor Adam Kracker in Vienna. In 1712 he was confirmed as a court chamber sculptor after the death of Emperor Joseph I. Stanetti worked in the vicinity of Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach and ran a larger workshop in which Ingenuin Lechleitner , Jakob Schletterer and Johann Christoph Mader were his students.
