A parish has existed since the 16th century.

architecture

The baroque hall church with a Gothic tower is surrounded by a cemetery.

The four-bay nave, the bay in front of the choir is slightly wider, has a drawn-in two-bay choir with a three-sided closure. The facade is structured with wide wall pillars that extend up to the eaves. The late Gothic tower and the adjoining sacristy are on the west side of the choir. The tower has tracery acoustic windows from the second half of the 15th century in the bell storey, which is offset by cornices, and has a pointed gable helmet. The baroque west facade has three window axes and a curved gable with the niche figure St. Nicholas from the 19th century. On the west gable is the figure of the risen Christ with angels with the instruments of passion. The arched portal around 1755 under a canopy has pilasters on the side and a stucco cartouche above the Keilstein.

The interior of the church shows the nave and choir under lancet barrel vaults on pillars with double pilasters in the nave and single pilasters in the choir, each with pieces of entablature. Rich Rococo stucco and stucco cartouches over the arched windows and crosses of the Apostles, all around 1756. The two-storey gallery with a central bay stands on columns above stucco capitals in the vault .

Anton Kirchebner painted the vault frescos in a document in 1756 with the collaboration of Josef Jais, in the choir St. Nikolaus as intercessor in front of the Trinity and to the side Johannes of the Cross and Theresa, in the nave rosary donation, liberation of a boy (Adeodatus) by St. Nicholas, to the side the four evangelists and two bishops.

Furnishing

The baroque high altar as a columnar altar with sacrificial portals was created by Josef Georg Witwer in 1756/1757 with the statues Florian, Josef, Joachim, Mauritius and, in the excerpt, the Lamb of God in front of wreaths of clouds and angels arranged one behind the other like a backdrop. The high altar shows the altar sheet St. Nikolaus and Achatius in front of the Madonna painted by Anton Kirchebner in 1757.

The console figure Our Lord in Misery around 1700 is remarkable. Alois Grissemann created the station pictures in 1813.

The organ case was created by Andreas Jäger in 1758 and changed by Karl Reinisch in 1930, the organ was created by Karl Reinisch in 1930. Barthlmä Köttelath names a bell in 1681.
