Johann Ladner
Johann Ladner (* 1707 in Kappl ; † June 11, 1779 ) was an Austrian late Baroque sculptor.
Life
Johann Ladner's artistic career began with an apprenticeship as a bricklayer, stonemason and stone sculptor in Paznaun , which also took him to southern Germany. Then he went on a hike and here he can be found in documents in the Baden town of Inzlingen in 1730 . His stone sculpting work is one of the most interesting national aspects of the artist.
In 1735 the meanwhile married Ladner returned to Tyrol. From then on he carved his works almost exclusively in wood. His works can be assigned to the popularly oriented late baroque.
