Thechurch, which is underthe patronage of St. Magnus von Füssen , belongs to the Deanery of Zams in the Diocese of Innsbruck . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

The chapel was mentioned in a document in 1705. The baroque church was built by the architect Kassian Grießer from 1735 to 1737 and consecrated in 1751. The tower was built in 1768 and the church was expanded in 1792.

architecture

The simple exterior with a drawn-in, rounded choir is equipped with arched windows. The south and west portals have a round arch and the wooden door was carved from the end of the 19th century. The tower has arched sound windows and a gable-pointed helmet. The four-bay nave and the choir have a barrel vault with stitch caps on pilasters and are connected by a round triumphal arch. The west gallery is referred to as a wooden structure. The ceiling painting by Johann Georg Witwer shows Glorie des Magnus in the choir from 1793, in the nave Magnus defeats the dragon and Magnus heals the possessed and on the side the four evangelists . The stained glass dates from the end of the 19th century.

Interior with high altar

The high altar dates from 1740, was taken in 1749 and changed at the end of the 18th century. The altar sheet "Rosary Donation" shows St. Dominic between Magnus and Gallus and is referred to as SP from the second quarter of the 18th century. The figures represent the saints Joseph , Johannes Evangelist and angels in excerpt and come from the workshop of Andreas Kölle in the middle of the 18th century. On the two side altars, which date from the end of the 18th century, there are reliquary coffins of Saints Vitalis and Clemens. The left side altar shows the image of St. Isidore praying, the upper image St. Aloysius. The right side altar shows the picture Mariahilf from the second quarter of the 18th century in a carved frame with putti, in the upper picture Saint Joseph. On the pulpit from the middle of the 18th century there are oval pictures of the four evangelists. The Stations of the Cross are from the end of the 18th century and the crucifixion group in the sacristy was created around 1700.

The organ was built by Franz Weber in 1860.
