Before 1500 Local historical and folkloric importance. Named "Murder Cross", head and arms straight, head short with receding forehead on the west side, shaft widening to slightly teardrop-shaped foot formation, also widening the narrow sides of the shaft, sole of the foot flat. Before 1923, the cross stood in Großerkmannsdorf, then disappeared, after being found while plowing in the field 1956, set up by members of the Kulturbund, broken again during road expansion, cleared away. Broken in the autumn of 1970 during road construction, in 1971 mortised with two iron square pins (next to each other in the direction of the arm) and joined with cement, foundation wedged with stones. Composition of the cross under the guidance of the State Museum for Prehistory Dresden. Since 1971, Kreuz has been about 2 m to the south and 2 m to the east of the last known location. Located directly on the edge of the field, comparatively small, general superficial weathering. One arm shorter due to old tees (Müller / Quietzsch 1977). Installation at the place where “many years ago a battle was fought between Radebergers and Erkmannsdorfern” (Herschel 1906). Legend: on April 2nd, 1634 Michael Merkel, resident of Großerkamnnsdorf, was fatally hit while attempting to stop Austrian salt wagons from the Radeberg salt depot and accompanied by Radeberg musket shooters, who came under the guidance of an imperial cornet. Entry in the church book for April 2, 1634. A connection with the cross cannot be proven (Müller / Quietzsch 1977). 09304672
