This is a list of the number one hits on Billboard's Most Played Juke Box Folk Records (Hillbillies, Spirituals, Cowboy Songs, etc.) in the US in 1944, first released on January 8, 1944. These charts are considered to be the predecessors of the Hot Country Songs introduced in 1958 . This year there were a total of thirteen number one songs, taking into account all Pistol Packin 'Mama versions.
