List of Petzi books

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Petzi books are children's books published by Carlsen Verlag with the adventures of Petzi . Originally, the Petzi stories were published in newspapers. Due to the transfer to children's books, some image sequences have been left out. The Belgian publisher Casterman made an attempt to publish the original story in its entirety and in the correct order, but stopped doing so after volume 21 (“Petzi dans l'île Robinson”).

With one exception, these stories never appeared in German again; there is no information about the draftsman, only one story (Petzi and the Christmas tree, appeared later in the series Pixi books as number 442) was signed by Vilhelm Hansen. However, all stories had the copyright notice (C) PIB / Carlsen-Verlag Reinbek. In 1979 the rights to Sesamstrasse were transferred to Condor Verlag (Frankfurt am Main).

The Belgian Casterman editions from 1985–1990

1985–1990 the Belgian publisher Casterman reissued the Petzi stories chronologically in album form and with speech bubbles. This edition was not based on the classic Danish Rasmus Klump books, in which individual scenes were missing. Rather, the stories are told relatively completely and appear in the narrative correct order. However, due to the portrait format and the inclusion of speech bubbles, the individual panels are mostly cropped and edited. The series appeared in German, French, Flemish (Dutch), Norwegian, Spanish, Catalan and Portuguese, but was discontinued in all countries, for example in Germany after the 4th volume ("Petzi meets mother perch").
Most of the volumes appeared in Belgium, here the publication initially extended to volume 20 or 21 (destruction of the first ship, construction of a new ship), later volumes are again based on the classical editions.

Compared to the newspaper strips, only a few panels are missing, especially at the beginning of the series: While in comparison to the strip comics from picture 1 to 40 there are only 26 (in the classic volumes 12!), The first 100 pictures are otherwise completely taken over (in the Classical volumes still have a "shrinkage" of 50%).

As a result, they are black and white, but they contain the complete unabridged adventure, unlike all other editions, no picture is missing.
