List of neighborhoods in Shibuya district of Tokyo

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of the districts of the Tokyo district Shibuya enumerates all today's districts in the area of the district Shibuya in the east of the Japanese prefecture Tokyo . The district is located in the southwest of Tokyo . Only the clearly delimited areas are listed, as they are also used for postal addresses in Japan .

Many districts consist of several numbered quarters ( 丁目 , chōme ), which usually span several blocks. In many Tokyo districts, several districts are combined into one area ( 地域 , chiiki ). For historical reasons, three areas can be distinguished in the Shibuya district : Shibuya , Sendagaya and Yoyohata , the three cities ( -machi ) in the Toyotama district, which were incorporated into Shibuya-ku in 1932 as a district of the then city of Tokyo .

The list is grouped by area and sorted alphabetically in Latin. The numbers of the chôme are listed after the name if applicable. Districts marked with * now extend into several areas.
