List of stumbling blocks in Nordstemmen

The list of stumbling blocks in Nordstemmen contains all stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in the municipality of Nordstemmen as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Nordstemmen. When it was relocated in November 2009, four stumbling blocks have been laid so far. (As of July 2019)

Karl Blumenthal was born on March 7, 1895 in Rössing . In Rössing he had been running a slaughterhouse since 1930, which he had taken over from his father. He was married to Henny Blumenthal and had two children. The boycott of Jews and reprisals against his family led to the sale of the house in 1939 and the family temporarily moved to Hanover . On March 31, 1942, he was deported from the Fischerhof train station to the Warsaw ghetto and then sent to the Trawniki labor camp .

Henny Blumenthal was born as Henny Hartogsohn in Emden on November 22, 1899 . She was married to Karl Blumenthal and had two children. On March 31, 1942, she was deported to the Warsaw Ghetto.
