Geinitzstrasse Hanns Bruno Geinitz (1814–1900) Geinitzstraße was initially simply called Werkstraße and connected the shafts of the Zwickauer Steinkohlenbauverein from the Fortunaschacht, where it branched off from Lengenfelder Straße, through the factory premises via the Vereinsglückschacht with the Glückaufschacht, where it crossed the then Vereinsglückstraße / today's Planitzer Straße. The part of Werkstrasse to the west of today's Planitzer Strasse is now called Erzgebirgische Strasse. The Geinitzsiedlung emerged as a miners' settlement after the Zwickau coal mining association ceased operations on the site of the Aurora and Vereinglückschachtes on both sides of Geinitzstrasse.
