This is a list of the heads of the Israeli diplomatic mission in Tehran . About 80,000 Jews lived in Persia under the regime of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi . Today the Jewish community with around 25,000 people is the largest in the Middle East outside of Israel .

To promote trade between the two countries, IRIS , an Iranian-Israeli trading company, was founded in 1953 , which was represented in Tehran by Zvi Duriel from 1956 to 1963 .
