The list of Portuguese ambassadors to the European Union lists the ambassadors of the Republic of Portugal to the European Union .

Portugal joined the predecessor organization EEC in 1986. The country had had a permanent representation since at least 1962 , in particular the mission to the European Community in Brussels , which was set up after the Carnation Revolution in 1974 and helped prepare for Portugal's subsequent accession.

The permanent representations of all EU states together form the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Member States .
