List of global systemically important insurance companies
The list of global systemically important insurance companies ( English List of Global systemically important Insurers - G-SIIS ) is the Financial Stability Board (FSB; German and Financial Stability Board ) issued capturing the world's systemically important insurers . The global systemically important insurance companies are a subgroup of the systemically important financial institutions (English Systemically Important Financial Institutions - SIFIs ).
history
As with the list of globally systemically important banks , systemic problems and problems arising from moral hazard are to be contained. The list and the associated methodology were first presented in July 2013 and have since been updated annually in coordination with the International Association of Insurance Supervisors and the national authorities and published in November each year. There can be new registrations and deletions every year, and the number of insurances recorded is not fixed.

The insurers named on the list must submit to these measures:
- Higher loss absorption capacity ( Higher loss absorbency , HLA) from 2019
- Stricter supervision
- Elaboration of restructuring and liquidation plans
