The list below contains forms of traditional Japanese dance ( Nihon Buyō ). There are four main categories: mai ( 舞 ), odori ( 踊 り ), furi ( 振 り ) and new forms ( 新 舞 踊 ). The list is sorted alphabetically, the category is given in brackets. If it is a dance that is only typical for a certain region, this is indicated by the addition regional . In the event that an article does not yet exist, the Kanji are also added. Dances from the Okinawa and Ryūkyū Islands are not listed here.
