Vincenzo Micheli

Vincenzo Micheli (* 1833 in Modena ; † 1905 ) was an Italian architect of historicism .

Micheli studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti (Florence) and became a student and collaborator of Emilio de Fabris . He was appointed as a member of various academies and received the dignity of Cavaliere del Regno, was involved in the work of the commission on the Mole Antonelliana in Turin and in the competitions for the Palace of Justice in Rome and the facade of the cathedral in Arezzo .

Micheli was particularly active in Tuscany . In Florence he designed the synagogue (1874–1882) (in collaboration with Mariano Falcini and Marco Treves ) as well as the great arch (Arcone) of the Piazza della Repubblica , the extension of the Ospedale di Santa Maria Nuova and the neo-Gothic St. Francis Church (1887 ). Micheli also worked for the rich marble dealer Bernardo Fabbricotti in Carrara and Livorno.

His son Alberto Micheli Pellegrini became an esteemed portrait and landscape painter.
