This is a list of Tsongkhapa disciples .
Tsongkhapa ( Tib. Tsong kha pa * 1357 , † 1419 ), the great reformer of Tibetan Buddhism and founder of the most important Gelugpa -Klosters Tibet - Founded in 1409 Ganden -Klosters - from the teachings of the Gelug emerged -Schulrichtung, many students had. The following list does not claim to be complete.
The Gelugpa ( dge lugs pa ) is also known as the Gandenpa tradition. Several of his closest disciples founded Tsongkhhapa's monasteries while he was still alive to continue his lineages and spread his teachings. This continued even after his death. Their main monasteries were mostly in Ü . A group of his students is summarized as the eight main students .

- Gyeltshab Dharma Rinchen (1364–1432) / Gyeltshab Je ( rgyal tshab rje ), 2nd Ganden Thripa (or 1st after Tsongkhapa ), author of a commentary on Shantideva's Bodhicharyavatara ("Entry into the path of enlightenment")
- Khedrub Geleg Pelsang (1385-1438; mKhas grub dge legs dpal bzang ) / Khedrub Je, 3. Ganden Tripa (or 2. after Tsongkhapa ) postum than 1. Penchen Lama designated
- Gyelwa Gendün Drub , (1391–1474; rgyal ba ge 'dun grub ), posthumously declared 1st Dalai Lama , founded the Trashilhünpo Monastery ( bkra shis lhun po ) in 1447
- Jamyang Chöje (1379–1449; 'jam dbyangs chos rje ) / Jamjang Chöje Trashi Pelden ( ' jam dbyangs chos rje bkra shis dpal ldan ), founded the Drepung monastery ( 'bras spungs dgon pa ) near Lhasa in 1416
- Chamchen Chöje Shakya Yeshe (1354–1435; byams chen chos rje shAkya ye shes ) founded the Sera monastery ( se ra dgon pa ) in 1419 .
- Je Sherab Sengge (1383–1445; rje shes rab seng ge ) / Gyü Sherab-Sengge ( rgyud shes rab seng ge ) founded the Lower Tantric Faculty (Gyumen; rgyud smad grva tshang ) in 1433
