The Lister Heights are a group of rocky peaks in the East Antarctic Coatsland . In the western section of the Shackleton Range, they tower 6 km southwest of the Flat Top on the eastern flank of the Stratton Glacier .
They were measured and named in 1957 by participants in the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) under the direction of British polar explorer Vivian Fuchs . It is named after the British glaciologist Hal Lister (1921-2010), who was part of the team that crossed the Antarctic continent on this expedition.
