Lithuanian community in Germany

The Lithuanian community in Germany e. V. is a public, not-for-profit company that emerged in 1950 from the Lithuanian Association of Expellees founded after World War II (1946). She is a member of the Lithuanian world community . Members of the community can be all Lithuanians living in Germany, people from Lithuania and their family members. The seat of the company is Rennhof Palace in Lampertheim - Hüttenfeld .

goals and tasks

The goals and tasks of the association are:

  • the preservation of nationality;
  • the promotion of homeland care and local studies as well as Lithuanian education and upbringing,
  • the maintenance of mother tongue lessons,
  • the establishment and maintenance of Lithuanian choirs, folk dance groups, libraries, local museums, a cultural institute and their own press reports;
  • the implementation of study days, exhibitions, concerts and other cultural events at local, state and federal level;
  • Representation of the cultural, legal and social interests of the Lithuanians in Germany at public and private institutions;
  • Promotion of German-Lithuanian cooperation in the cultural field;
  • Supporting Lithuania in European integration.

The organs of the community are:

  • the general assembly of the local association,
  • the board of the local association,
  • the control committee of the local association,
  • the Central Council of the Community,
  • the Presidium of the Central Council,
  • the federal board of the community,
  • the court of honor of the community,
  • the Community Control Committee,
  • the Election Commission of the Central Council of the Community.
