The Lithuanian Theater, Music and Cinema Museum (lit.Lietuvos teatro, muzikos ir kino muziejus ) is an art museum for theater , music , cinema and visual arts in Vilnius , Lithuania . It has five departments and is located in Vilnius Old Town , Trakų gatvė . The sponsor is the Ministry of Culture of Lithuania . There are old musical instruments, collections of music recordings, works of stage painting, art retrospectives.

history

The museum was opened in Kaunas in 1926 by writers such as Balys Sruoga and Vincas Krėvė . At that time it was the Lietuvos Universitetas Theater Seminary Museum, the Valstybės Teatras Museum from 1936 to 1944 and the Museum of the Lithuanian Theater Association from 1957 to 1964. There has been permanent exposure since 2000.
