Lithocarpus macphailii is aspecies of tree fromthe beech family (Fagaceae) that occurs in Southeast Asia .

Lithocarpus macphailii is an evergreen tree .
The fruit cup (cupula) is pot-shaped. It encloses four fifths of the nut . Two to six clear horizontal, thread-like lines can be seen on the surface.
Flowering and fruit ripening take place in July and August.
Distribution and locations
The species occurs in Thailand , Malaysia ( Kalimantan ) and Indonesia . It grows in tropical evergreen lowland forests at 100 to 250 m above sea level.
Systematics
Murray Ross Henderson described the species in 1930 under the taxon Pasania macphailii . In 1945 Euphemia Cowan Barnett classified the species with the taxon Lithocarpus macphailii, which is valid today, in the genus Lithocarpus .
